Sweat, endurance, unbelievable feats of strength, puke and more sweat. The CrossFit Games Canada East Regionals are taking place this weekend in Mississauga.
After the first of six events Jeff Larsh is currently in 9th place, my good friend Eric Condron finished in 31st place in his first regionals ever, and Matt Lefave of Reebok CrossFit Liberty Village (shout out!) is in 38th place. With 5 more events to go – one more today, two tomorrow and 2 on Sunday – it’s still anyone’s game. You can bet everyone will be sweating hard right until the bitter end. The top two male and female finishers move onto the big show at the CrossFit Games in California this July.
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of witnessing top CrossFitter Camille Leblanc-Bazinet complete at killer WOD. She is one of the top athletes in the world and finished 9th at her very first games in 2010. Right now she’s kicking butt and finished in first place in the first event, just one second ahead of Michelle Letendre. I secretly have aspirations of someday being as kickass as these ladies. So inspiring!
If you are in the area I highly suggest you check it out to see what a competitive CrossFit experience is all about. It’s an amazing atmosphere being able to cheer on athletes as they fight it out and push their bodies to the absolute max. Events run daily Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting at 8am. The finals on Sunday are shaping up to be quite the showdown!
